Lisa & Mike ::: Married

On Saturday I had the pleasure of 2nd shooting Mike and Lisa’s Big Day with the fabulous Erin of Erin J Photography. Erin - I had a great time and can’t wait to shoot with you again in October!!!

Lisa and Mike were married in downtown Fredricksburg, VA. It was the perfect backdrop for this bride and groom’s big day. I felt honored to be able to share this special time with them - congrats again!!! Below are a couple of my favorites!

I got to hang out with the groom before the ceremony. His cuff links were made from old typewriter keys - very cool touch!Some of the gorgeous details…After the ceremony, we walked to the train station a block away. Love this fun shot with her veil blowing. Unfortunately, this train was filled with waste and we had to hightail it out of there because it stunk so bad. Lisa & Mike - thanks for being good sports :o)Mike got his groomsmen the same type of cufflinks he wore (the old typewriter keys). I am pretty sure I lost any cool points with them when I told them that their links spelled “awesome”. O-S-M. Really guys, I was kidding!And a couple fun ones from the reception - this was definitely a dancing bunch!

Bad Blogger-Family, Life, Work and Weddings…

Wow - it feels like it has been forever since I have blogged anything. To my blog followers (are there any? lol) I am sorry! I have been super busy for the last couple of weeks though - enjoying time with my family, taking care of long needed chores like cleaning out my garage (so not fabulous!) and catching up on proofing and orders!

One of the best times I had in the past couple of weeks was tagging along with the fabulous Julia MacInnis as she shot Jennifer and Taylor’s wedding. Ingrid Kaslik was her second shooter and well, I was just there to learn and have fun. I just wanted to say thanks to Julia for inviting me along. I mostly tried to absorb all the information they were sharing with me, but I also managed to get a couple of shots in too. Congratulations to Jennifer & Taylor - who are truly gorgeous inside and out!

Ahmad + Melissa - Married!!!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting Ahmad and Melissa’s wedding. It turned out to be the MOST gorgeous day for their intimate ceremony. I have known Ahmad since high school (maybe even junior high - eeeekkk!!) and felt so blessed to be part of this special moment in his life. For this was about more then him and Melissa…they both had written their vows and the feeling that was expressed in both of their vows was about family. Ahmad has two boys (young men :o) ) and Melissa has two beautiful little girls. I felt like the whole day was about a family finding each other and coming together and it was just beautiful! Melissa’s friend did her hair and makeup and I just loved Ahmad’s boys helping him get ready!

Did I not say it turned out to be a GORGEOUS day?!

This last one makes me giggle. Ahmad and Melissa’s first picture ever was in front of this fountain. Well look at them now… the kids are just doing their own thing and this screams to me - perfect little family! Congrats - I am soooo happy for you guys!
