Little Cutie - Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting this precious little newborn. The thing with newborn sessions is that no matter how much planning, how prepared the parents are, or how many “newborn photography tricks that I pull out of my bag”….the little ones certainly run the show.  Little Sienna must have known it was her big modeling debut that day and did not want to miss a minute of it. She certainly gave me a run for the money trying to get some sleepy shots but finally decided to take a short nap. I sort of think that maybe she wanted to stay up and watch football with her dad - lol.

Mom and Dad - I had a great time meeting you and little Sienna. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Mom had painted this mural on the wall in the nursery - truly one of the most gorgeous that I have seen. I think they have to take a picture of Sienna in front of this same mural at 6 months and a year.

And this last one is for dad! Go Steelers!

Beautiful Baby! - Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

One of the favorite parts of my job is getting to follow a family as they take the journey from pregnancy to welcoming their new little one. I had an absolute blast with this couple at their maternity shoot and could not wait to capture their sweet angel once she made her appearance. One of my favorite maternity shots was the one where they were deciding her name - see below! (inspired by a wonderful photographer Pinkletoes!)

Well can anyone guess her name??

Welcome beautiful Emmy!! She was the perfect newborn model!

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend Stephanie on one of her shoots.  These two and half month old cutie pies were a joy to shoot. They took turns sleeping and handled their debut photo shoot very well! Thanks Steph for inviting me along - I had a blast!

Eva is the big sister (by a whopping three minutes - but she was oh so petite and princess like!)

And “little” brother Gabriel was just a sweet chunky little thing - loved his sweet temprament and cute cheeks!

Gabe - the Rockstar, Part II - Northern A Newborn Photographer

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of spending the morning with little Gabe and his Mom and Dad. I have to admit that when Gabe’s mom contacted me about doing a newborn session with her already 16 day old little one, I was slightly unsure of whether we would be able to get ALL the sleepy newborn shots that you see on my site (I typically shoot for newborn sessions to be done at 10 days and under as they generally are a little sleepier at that time).  Well this little model totally surprised me and was by far my sleepiest newborn to date. He was awesome!

On top of that, I just had a fun time hanging out with this new family. It was great talking with Mom about being a new parent, the joys (and pains) of being a business owner (she owns a printing company), or just life in general, to absolutely cracking up at Dad who was dying to help out, but at the same time was melting from the combo of the 80 degree house that I ask parents to provide for newborn sessions and me running a space heater. I more then once caught him stepping out to the next room to stand in front of a fan - lol! These two were clearly smitten and head over heals in love with their new little man - I feel so privileged to be able to share in these special moments and capture this special time for them.  I LOVE MY JOB!  Thank you both and congratulations!

Just a quick sneak peek for Gabe’s Mom and Dad! Seriously - check out the sweet mohawk at 19 days old-what a little ROCKSTAR!!! I had such a great time with you today!!! Just wanted to post one that caught my eye for now. Congratulations to your new family :o)

Could Not Wait! - Maryland Newborn Photographer

Remember this recent maternity session? Just 5 short days later, little Cameron made his appearance into the world (a whole 6 weeks early). I am thinking that he could not wait to meet his gorgeous mama. He is a little trooper and made it home from the hospital much sooner then anticipated. What a blessing! Angie, thanks for allowing me to capture these special times for you and congratulations!!

I was so happy mom was feeling great and wanted to venture out to “our” field. OHHHH imagine pulling up to a freshly mowed field - eeekk!!  Thank goodness Angie had been eyeing other fields around her house - it all worked out!  :o)

I just had to add this one - I call it “THE THINKER” lol - tooo cute!

Love this mama-son moment!

Beautiful Baby Harper! | Northern VA Newborn Photographer

Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person in the world to actually to be able to do what I do. Photography is my passion - I could truly eat, breathe and sleep it (I think most photographers feel that way)! And one of the best parts of my first year in business last year was that I was able to meet and make new friends with a bunch of wonderful*amazing*fabulous photographers.

One of these amazing photographers was Erin of Erin J Photography who was just newly pregnant when I met her. Yesterday, Ingrid and I got to do a shoot of Erin’s brand new baby girl, Harper. Isn’t that the coolest name? I have always loved names that were a little different.  She is just gorgeous with her little blond spiky hair and tiny little dimple. Erin - thanks so much for allowing me to capture this special time for your family.  I hope you enjoy them :o)
