Gorgeous Family - Northern Virginia Children’s Photographer

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with this stylish family - check them out!!!! It had been along time coming… I think I first talked to mom in April of this year to talk about a session for her family. We decided to shoot the session around her baby’s 1st birthday. I am so happy to have finally met them - had such a fun time. And let me tell you, if anyone has ever paid attention to my what to wear guide, it was mom!!!! This was the most fabulously styled family EVER!!! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek :o)

Hello most gorgeous little one….How adorable are these brothers?Like I said - fabulous family…Absolutely LOVE this one… can’t you see many fun times to come with these brothers? And last but not least… this pretty much captured the energy of the session!!!

Photography Fun GTG-Old Town Alexandria

Soooo….. totally forgot to blog about this. In July, I had the pleasure of meeting up with about 50 other photographers for a DC get-together. I had an awesome time getting together and talking biz with other wonderful artists. We also found time to shoot! Here are a couple of beautiful model Stephanie Dang. I had fun working with Off Camera Flash and an experienced model. Also - fun processing in different ways!

Gabe - the Rockstar, Part II - Northern A Newborn Photographer

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of spending the morning with little Gabe and his Mom and Dad. I have to admit that when Gabe’s mom contacted me about doing a newborn session with her already 16 day old little one, I was slightly unsure of whether we would be able to get ALL the sleepy newborn shots that you see on my site (I typically shoot for newborn sessions to be done at 10 days and under as they generally are a little sleepier at that time).  Well this little model totally surprised me and was by far my sleepiest newborn to date. He was awesome!

On top of that, I just had a fun time hanging out with this new family. It was great talking with Mom about being a new parent, the joys (and pains) of being a business owner (she owns a printing company), or just life in general, to absolutely cracking up at Dad who was dying to help out, but at the same time was melting from the combo of the 80 degree house that I ask parents to provide for newborn sessions and me running a space heater. I more then once caught him stepping out to the next room to stand in front of a fan - lol! These two were clearly smitten and head over heals in love with their new little man - I feel so privileged to be able to share in these special moments and capture this special time for them.  I LOVE MY JOB!  Thank you both and congratulations!

Rockstar - Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

Just a quick sneak peek for Gabe’s Mom and Dad! Seriously - check out the sweet mohawk at 19 days old-what a little ROCKSTAR!!! I had such a great time with you today!!! Just wanted to post one that caught my eye for now. Congratulations to your new family :o)

Best Wedding Entrance EVER!!!!!!

I saw this on another photographer’s blog tonight. Oh how much fun is this? I think this is the best way ever to start off your big day :o) Kuddos to the happy bride and groom and all of their friends!

Fun Summer Days….Reston Children’s Photographer

Growing up in Reston, summer was all about going to the pools. Reston is so wonderful in that if you live there you access to any of the numerous Reston pools. I clearly remember waking up, getting our snacks ready, bathing suits on, hopping on our bikes and riding to the pool. We would spend all day there (and I mean like 9 hours all day there!) I loved the water…. I could swim all day long. The only thing better was the beach :o)

I guess my kids are just like me - they love the water. And recently we traveled to St. Pete, Florida. It was a blast - we took in the sun, sand and water from sun up to sun down.  The feel of the sand on my feet, the warmth of the sun and the sound of the ocean just makes my heart do back flips! Here are a couple of the kids enjoying the beach.

To the photographers - The beautiful blue sky was brought back in processing and of course I had so much fun with my new fisheye lens! Can’t wait to use it at some upcoming weddings!

He would be happy digging holes and building sand castles all day long

My baby daredevil finally found here place throwing sand. The first day she spent the entire time running into the waves and scaring me!!!

This is my little athlete. She pretty much spent the whole time in the water.

And here is the kids “cousin” - I am so happy we got to spend time with her. Thank you J & A - we had a blast :o)

Her Big Day - Northern Virginia Childrens Photographer

Just wanted to pop in onto the blog - I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today was my oldest daughter’s big dance recital and the culmination of every Monday evening spent at dance class since September. She danced with about 20 other 8 year olds to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”.  Do you remember that Cyndi Lauper song - lol. She did so well and I am so proud of her. After the show, I convinced (bribed) her to take just a few quick snaps!

This is definitely my favorite - so her..

And a quick one of baby sis. She sure was worn out after all of the “terrorizing” she did during the recital. Awwwhhh life with a 2 year old…. She did last a good hour at the recital before the terror ensued, so I am proud of her too :o)

Double the fun - Maryland Newborn Photographer

On Sunday I had the pleasure of the spending the afternoon with this beautiful family and their new bundles of joy!

It was a nice relaxing drive out to their house in Maryland and when I walked into their home, my heart breathed a happy sigh. Their home was the perfect example of decorating your house with your family memories as Art. Beautiful canvases and gorgeous framed prints of their older son adorned the walls. I should have taken pictures because clients frequently ask for ideas for wall layouts for their prints but then I thought they might ask if I was there to take pictures of their cutie pie twins or their walls - lol!

I had such a great time with the twins - they really were little angels.  Apparently, sister surprised everyone by sleeping almost the entire session.  Brother was a little more curious as to the goings on in the house and tried not to miss out ;o) I even had the opportunity to capture a couple of big brother once he woke up from his nap.  I am super excited about the variety of images we were able to capture. Thanks “H” Family I had a great afternoon-enjoy your sneak peek!

And here is super duper cute big brother :o)

Family Fun! - Northern Virginia Photographer

This past weekend I had the privilege of meeting this WONDERFUL family. We had a fun session planned - Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle would be in town from California (in fact Uncle had landed at 6:30am just in time for our 9am session!) and Sister and her family would be coming from a little distance. We had glorious plans and had checked out beautiful sites in the area. But… anyone in this area knows what last Saturday morning was like….. it was gray, gloomy and pouring rain!!! Our plans were blown, but I still had a wonderful time with everyone.  Seriously one of the SWEETEST families I have met! Grandma and Grandpa were hilarious!!! And the kids were soooo good - especially considering that fact that we were stuck in the house.

The good news… I get to meet back up with the kids this week - when it will be sunny and warm outside and well…  I can’t wait!!!

Check them out - Are they not beautiful?

I believe this is the shot that I meowed at everyone - lol!  Hopefully Grandma will love the family picture!!

THANK YOU!!!

I just wanted to give a quick thank you to the Firemen from Fairfax County Station 36!

Everyday these men and women put their own lives on the line to save other’s lives. Well tonight, they saved my SANITY!!! Last night I had a whopping one hour of sleep due to my fire alarms in every room of the house going off every 5 - 10 minutes.  Tonight after dance and a grocery run, the kids and I arrived home to all of the fire alarms going off non stop not just every couple of minutes. We head back out to store (again) to buy some new batteries. Come home change all 7 batteries to no avail…. After almost having a nervous breakdown because I cannot get them to stop, I call Fairfax County. These guys are awesome – they showed up right away and were so gracious and did not even make fun of me. I know I had to look ultra frazzled by then!!!

So after we said our thank you’s and closed the door, I sit back and realize I did not even take a picture of these awesome fellas!!!! I open the door and they were already pulling off - too late.  LOL - only a photographer would think like that. Well again, we wanted to say a big GINORMOUS (love that word) THANK YOU!  Not only for fixing the alarms at our house, but for all you do for the community.

I had a list of things to do tonight, but I think I will just sit here and listen to the silence :o)

I am feeling like this post is incomplete without a picture so here is one from this past week (and how ironic  because I hope to be “sleeping like a baby” tonight!!!)
