Wanna Be

Ok so I do believe that any mom with a little girl 6 or above is quite involved in the Hannah Montana craze. We are no exception. We pre-purchased the tickets to see the Hannah Montana Concert Movie when it came out.  Most with little girls know that the Disney Channel was showing the movie this past weekend. My daughter pulled out the 3D glasses from the movie and was set to watch the show. Come to find out - they didnt work quite as well as at the movie theater. Well leave it to the kiddos to make do.

And so was born the Hannah Montanna Concert at our house. Seriously it was so stinkin cute. Big brother was the producer. He made the tickets and distributed them, carried the kareoke machine down the stairs, did the announcing (are you ready, ready, ready - ummm yeah the echo machine) and handled the show lighting (flash light!).

Here are a few snaps. Wish i had more, but i was laughing to hard. She really did sing a song - look at the wig

All boys!

I have to say this morning’s session just made me smile. These two little ones were the definition of ALL BOY! For the first half of the session I don’t think they even noticed me because they were having so much fun. Thank you to Mom for letting me drag you and your little ones around Reston & Herndon. If anyone in the area has a free minute, check out Frying Pan Park. One of the goats just had a kid named Broolyn. Take care mom - hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

This is the DEFINITION of BROTHERS to me! I love their interaction :)

Adorable Little G

I just first and foremost have to say thank you to this beautiful family. It was soooo hot yesterday and you guys totally hung with me during the shoot.  This little one - cute little G was unsure of me at first. He did warm up to me and actually liked me singing patty cake and the ABC’s to him (at least I am pretending he really liked it- although in reality he was laughing at my horrible singing voice….).  Mom and Dad - I could see all the love you have for your little one and that always makes me so happy - hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

i just love how the family seems to form a heart in this one!!!

Super C = Super Cuties!!!

I had a great time with the H family yesterday morning. I just loved the fact that this little 3 year old cutie loves bugs and super heroes!  Her favorite is Superman. Mom got her this cool cape - I LOVE it! I mean sooo much better then the underoos that I wore back in the day :)

And baby sister was adorable. She is Ms. Smile 24-7. Well yesterday I must have looked very curious, because she sure was studying me with her most serious face. I did capture a couple of smiles but i quite liked her serious look in these.

Ballin in Old Town

I was soooo excited to do this session! One of my VERY best friends asked me to do a session for her and her son.  She is one of the kindest, strongest, most generous people that I know.  Little Richie is very good as basketball. I typically would not say to come to a session in basketball gear, but knowing that is such a huge part of his life, I wanted to include it in the session.  He really is Mr. Cool though and had a line up of other outfit changes as well (as did mom) :o)  Love ya! Hope you like the sneak peek!

I love this one!

Like any little boy this age, he thought it was hillarioius to “clear the room” - if you know what I mean….

Feel Good Story-Surprise Proposal

Ok - sometimes I get a little down listening to the news and all that is going on in the world today.  But this story is just too happy, too magical, too wonderful not to share. I was asked by Fairfax Corner Shopping Center to do a unique shoot. An Engagement Shoot - Not and E-Session, but an actual shoot where there is a surprise proposal. Well you can guess I jumped on this.

Well let me explain that Bruce had contacted the shopping center a couple of weeks earlier to advise them of his plan and to get a little help playing out the surprise proposal to Melissa. Well come to today, the ipod qued, their song played, a proposal was made, and a yes was said. Seriously, I don’t think their was a dry eye in the fountain plaza. Melissa you have one heck of a man. He went above and beyond and you can tell how much he loves you. Congratulations to the both of you - I am so happy to have shared in such a special moment with you.

While anxiously awaiting for Bruce and Melissa we watched the kids frolic in the fountain….

Bruce did GOOD!!!

Beautiful Belly, Beautiful Mama

I just love when pregnant women feel so confident, are will to go with anything and are just feeling beautiful. You can tell this mama is surely glowing!

.Working on cure for PCS.

I am pretty sure that 100% of photographers know what this is but for those of you not familiar with PCS, please see symptoms as demonstrated by my kids below….

Please note look of disgust complete with hand on hip in this one

That is right - Photographer’s Child Syndrome.

This is pretty common with photographer’s children. It might come from having a camera in their face since  birth and every waking moment up until the present.  It is highly frustrating to be able to capture everyone but your own family!!! I sometimes have these grand ideas for sessions with my own children and maybe one day it will happen but right now common reactions to me pulling out my camera are:

crying,

pouting,

funny faces,

running from the camera (alot of this…), and

well… you get the picture..

This past weekend I did not have my dream session with my kids. But we enjoyed a festival and cookouts galore and I felt a glimmer of hope as I was able to capture natural reactions and moments of joy in MY OWN KIDS!!!!  Now I don’t think buying a moon bounce is in the cards for this family, but boy did that do the trick with my littlest one!!!

And i loved this one of him cooling off for some reason…

And look how happy she is here!

 Ahhhh, there is hope :)
