Cutie Pie - Part II

Some of you may recognize this little cutie from a few posts back. The day of our session we ended up with a very short session due to horrible storms that came through the area! Mom even made a 3-block dash to the parking garage in the POURING rain to get the car that day.  Mom and Dad knew I had a few more goodies up my sleeve and were game to doing another shoot. This time we just had to brave the almost 90 degree heat at 8 in the morning!! Well worth it though. Check her out!

Oh Happy Days!!!

Well my oldest daughter is completely happy now!

All due to a new do!  She has been begging me for months to have her hair cut. She wanted it to her chin. Anyone that has seen a picture of my daughter will see that is A LOT of curls gone. But she has begged and begged with all her 7 year old heart. Last night I gave in…I started to cut. Really I didnt mean to cut THAT much but by the time i got to the other side of her hair, it was apparent i had gotten shorter and shorter. Well I straightened it out and she couldnt be happier! And that makes me smile :)

So here she is in her newfound glory!!!

Can you tell she loves it??? LOL!

.Photographer’s Gettogether.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of going to a get together with other local photographers in the area. Willow of Willow Dawn Photography hosted the event. I had so much fun. This was my second time attending one of her parties!! What a hostess she is!!  We hit up a couple of nice spots. Some of us brought our kids. Basically a fun day capturing others kids followed by eating a delicious meal is what it amounts to!

Here are a couple that I have had a chance to edit….

I have been tagged!!

I have been tagged by Cathy Crawley of Beautiful Moments Photography -  I have to post 5 embarrassing songs that I secretly love - this should be interesting….

Tagging is a silly thing that photographers do, this is my first time being tagged so let’s get on with it!!

Here are my 5 songs which I love (secretly):

1.  Ripped Pants by Spongebob Squarepants - LOL!! It is a stupid but catchy song. The reason i like it, the sound of my kids laughter when this song comes on, just warms my heart. To think about this song brings a smile to my face because I can just hear them giggling.

2. Seasons of Love from the Musical Rent. Just love that movie, love this song. Still would love to see the play.

3. Rock With You by Michael Jackson (the old normal Michael Jackson). Not only do I still love this song, it makes me think things go full circle in life. Like when my oldest daughter has picked out a crazy outfit to wear to school, I can think back to my mom letting me wear a black dress with silver sequins and a glove (yes you read right - I wore a Michael Jackson dress the first day of 4th grade) so I just let my daughter wear the outfit :o)

4.  Push It! by Salt n Peppa - if I were to here this come on the radio today, I would still want to get up out of my seat and dance - LOL!

5. Dream by Priscilla Ahn. I am pretty sure that every photographer on this planet might be sick of this song. But no, not me :o)

Ok onto the fun stuff:  WHO I AM TAGGING. Some might play along, some might not!

Stephanie - because I love her newborn work - so precious, she is a good friend, and she always corrects gramatical errors on my blog :o) Get ready Steph.

Mark Brooke Photography because I love their style, funky fresh crazy captures! And I love how their story about how they decided to go for their dream of becoming photographers.

Desiree Hayes because I love her colorful fun images - her last maternity session was wow!!!

Wilette because I really like her style - classic with a modern take on it - what more can I say.

Sugar Photography because how cool is that name?? LOL and I love her adoption sessions - just beautiful.

Here are the rules!
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Thanks Cathy for tagging me!!!

Fun Family, Quaint Town

So even though it was like 1000 degrees, I think it would be agreed we all had fun. This Sunday I got to spend time with the H Family. I had such a good time - these little ones were so full of spunk and little L baby was such a good little one! We spent time in historic Clifton, VA. Loved all the old houses!

I think we can clearly see these little ones personalities….

We had a bubble queen :o)

and a pretty princess…

This little one is such a little cutie! He was absolutely perfect during the shoot!

Hotter than….

Litterally - we set a record temparature yesterday for this area for June 7th - 98 degrees!  I want to thank the A Family and their little cuties for hanging in there with me. We were seriously melting out there. These little ones were so cute.

Bubbles were a big hit

And this little 4 year old is so smart! He loved writing his name, his brothers name and anyone else we named!

Looking for duckies is always fun!

Cutie Patootie!

This is definitely my most anticipated session to date. Our shoot today was the THIRD attempt at a session for this fun family. The first two were rescheduled due to weather and sickness. What made us think today would be any different!!? - severe thunderstorms led us to end the shoot…

This little one is so squeezable! Thanks mom and dad for putting up with the dashing to and from location to location.

This was the calm before the storm shot - we could see the sky getting darker and darker and a wierd haze come over. This was shot and 2 seconds later the sky opened up. We dashed for our cars!!!

Baby S took it all in stride though. I just had to include this shot. We sat and waited for the storm to go by in our own cars. When the rain stopped I rolled down my window and dad rolled down their window. Look at Baby S ready to go and as happy as can be!
