  • WELCOME!

Thank you for stopping by the Sugar Rush Blog!

I am inspired by beautiful color, textures, gorgeous light, dramatic black and white images – but most of all my clients…*REAL FAMILIES* *REAL MOMENTS* *REAL CONNECTIONS*….that is what I strive to document in my work. I love to capture soon-to-be moms glowing with anticipation of welcoming their new little one, a brand new baby in their first days of life, the connection between parents and their children and moments such as the the nervous excitement of your wedding day. I am honored to share in these moments with you.

Like most of my photographer friends, I do not sleep. Just kidding... But I do work late into the night editing, editing, editing … but I am a mother FIRST before anything else and am so thankful for that title! I am known as Mommy, Mama, or Mom to my 3 wonderful monsters…eehhh I mean kiddos.

I love all things sparkly (and pink)! I will often show up to your session with a Starbucks in hand. Cinnamon Dolce Lattes make me happy! I love flip flops and can’t wait for the summer to arrive so don’t be surprised to see me trying to break them out a little early.

I love my job! I feel so blessed every time a client trusts me to capture their memories. Believe me…this is not a job I take lightly and I hope that shines through in my work! Feel free to browse and I hope you will drop me a line.

    xoxo ….Beth

The Simmons Family ~ Alexandria, VA Family Photographer

Let me start off this post by saying it is now the end of January and I am blessed to be able to say I had a VERY BUSY Fall/Winter of 2015. I had the opportunity to meet new clients as well as reconnect with past clients for sessions. I never take it for granted that people entrust me to capture their memories….it is such an awesome privilege. At the end of last year my goal was to turn around my clients pictures/galleries and get them their orders on a timely basis as I know everyone wants to get those holiday gifts. That being said, I severely neglected my blog. Well now is the time to show off my awesome clients!

I had the opportunity to photograph the Simmons Family for the very first time this year. Prior to the session Mom was a little nervous about how her twin 3 year olds might do during the session. Well let me tell you they were rockstars! I have 4 children myself and I know that all kids have very different personalities. I love getting to know the kiddos during a session. I love getting down on their level and just having fun. And I even love capturing those more serious expressions from you little ones. Point blank I love capturing your family and every bit of what makes you special…..not just a picture of everyone looking at the camera and smiling. (although I will get a couple of those for you as well!). They were such a sweet family and I am so glad we got this last minute session in!

So happy to hear from Jess and her family for a last minute holiday session at the end of the year:o) How crazy is it that the girls could wear these sleeveless dresses in December? We had a ball (as usual). Again, I am so honored to get to see families year after year and its even better when clients turn into friends!

Had an awesome time seeing the Narang Family for a fall photo session. Don’t they look like a family of models or what? So much fun! I can’t wait to see them again soon!

Love love love and adore the Jungerman Family. I have now lost count of how many sessions I have shot for them.  I always have such a ball and it has been awesome watching them grow and seeing the little personalities change over the years.
