One of my goals this year is to include more of my personal life on my blog. My kids have grown up with a camera in their face and have what I call “photographers child syndrome”. They came to hate having a camera in their face and I actually gave them a break from the camera (other then my camera phone). But in doing so, I realized that I am missing out on capturing my own family’s memories. And capturing my own kids is what actually peaked my interest in the photography business. I have made a resolution to make sure I carry my big bad camera more this year. The kiddos will just have to suck it up and I know they will thank me one day

My family’s spring break started out with a very busy but fun weekend! This past weekend my oldest daughter Shy’an had a 2-day cheerleading competition in Baltimore, Maryland. This is her first year doing All-star cheer and what a great experience it has been. She cheers for Cheer Tyme in Chantilly, Virginia. I can not say enough good things about the Cheer Tyme Chantilly Family. Cheer Tyme opened this year (although they have 15 years of experience with 2 other locations in Pennsylvania). When we first started I had no idea what to expect. Let me tell any parents that are thinking about putting their kids in All-star cheer that is is very involved and takes a lot of dedication on both your kids and your part, but it is oh so worth it. Shy absolutely loves it. The gym is doing fantastic for their first year and has two teams going to Worlds and three other teams going to the Summit! Shy’s team is a prep team (half year) as we started late to the game and she missed trying out for a full year team. Her team is made up of girls with varying levels of experience and I am so proud of all the hard work and dedication that they have put in over the season.
This competition was called Return to Atlantis and it was truly an outstanding competition. Shy’s team ended up winning their division. They were trailing by a point after day one but pulled out a great routine on day 2 and ended up winning! National Champions baby!!! The girls were so excited as you can see by the shot of their National Champion Backpacks they won

I know…big cheer bows are a bit much, but I actually have grown to love them.

Shy has awesome coaches…Coach Michelle, Coach Jessica and Coach Jeff – thank you so much for all of your hard work with the girls!
Lunch with Auntie down at the Inner Harbor was a highlight!

Team Embrace – Get is girls!

National Champs – Hearts Up!
