Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of meeting Susan and David for their maternity shoot. How much fun is this? They wanted to capture some shots in their Phillies jerseys – love it! Yes…we can say major fans! Now something interesting I learned during our time together is that Dad is in charge of the nursery. You heard that right – he is totally in charge of the nursery. As in, Mom has not seen and it will be a total surprise how the room will be decorated. Given the fact that they are huge Phillies fans I would not be surprised if their little boy ends up with something baseball themed. Then again, Dad had a major hand in decorating the rest of the house and lets just say it could easily be straight out of a Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn catalog. Whatever the surprise ends up being, I am sure it will be worth the wait. Obviously, a lot of love and anticipation waiting on this little one! Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Loved all the shots I captured of Mom laughing – I think she looks beautiful! Although, I am not entirely sure that Dad was not behind me making her laugh by making fun of all my super ninja-type stances while I shoot.

Adorable Andrew ~ Leesburg, VA Newborn Photographer

Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of spending the morning with this adorable little one. Little Andrew is so handsome and sweet and was a perfect little model. During the session mom said something to me along the lines of “it must be so wonderful to be able to have the opportunity to spend time with all these new babies during your newborn sessions”. She was absolutely right! I feel so blessed to be allowed to do not only something that I love, but that these families allow me to into their world with their first days with their new babies. During newborn sessions we often sit and talk a good deal and I get to know a little about the family, their life and to see the love and adoration towards their little ones. What an awesome job I have!!! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Evening Light Maternity ~ Northern Virginia Maternity Photographer

Yesterday evening I had the best time with this expecting couple! Sibyl is due to deliver her first baby in just a couple of days and just recently decided that she wanted to capture this special time in her life. I was so happy happy she did – I do not think I have laughed that hard at a session ever…. Actually, I think we all laughed the entired time. The best part to me though was capturing the love between these two. A lot of times I will have couples get in front of the camera and I will need to give them a little direction (I know I would need it too – I am the deer in the headlights look when I actually have to get in front of a camera). These two needed no direction – everything was so pure and true. I caught so many great hugs, glances into each others eyes, kisses – it was so refreshing to see. And to top it off they chose an evening session – check out the gorgeous light – YUMMY! Hope you guys enjoy the sneak peek.

Adorable Little David ~ Arlington, Virginia Newborn Photographer

I had a wonderful Sunday morning photographing this little peanut! I am honored that Mom and Dad chose me to capture both their maternity and newborn portraits!

Little David is just scrumptious (Moms, you know what I am saying… the kind of scrumptious that makes you want to just sniff you brand new baby all day long!). David was happy and content to sleep through his first modeling shoot. I mean this little one did not wake at all….hmmm has me wondering how the rest of the day went. Babydoll Emma ~ Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting beautiful baby Emma and her parents, Allison and Ryan. Allison and Ryan were referred to me by another client – thank you Jennifer! (reminder to everyone that every referal earns you a $50 print credit on your next session!).

Little Emma was so precious and reminded me of a little babydoll. And….this little peanut just so happened to be one of the best newborn models in the history of Sugar Rush Photography. She fell asleep as I was arriving and slept like a little angel for the majority of our session! Mom and Dad – it was so nice to finally meet you. Caelen the Cutie ~ Northern Virginia Childrens Photographer

Now can someone please tell me why boys have all the luck when it comes to eyelashes? Look at the GORGEOUS lashes on this little cutie, Caelen. I would pay for those lashes!!! And to go along with those lashes, he has the sweetest little smile that just melted my heart. The morning of our session was already very hot but we still made it the local park and playground for some fun. Caelen was ready to explore and I loved being able to capture all the curiosity, seriousness and smiles of this little one.

I had the privilege of shooting his baby sister’s newborn session a few weeks ago and love that I was able to come back and spend time with the family again! Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Gorgeous Alessandra – Sterling, VA Newborn Photographer

I spent this past Sunday morning with baby Alessandra. You may remember mom and dad from their maternity session. I had so much fun getting to know them that day and absolutely could not wait to meet their baby girl. I felt so lucky to be able to capture both the pregnancy and newborn moments for this new family. Pregnancy is such a special time that really only lasts moments (even though it feels like FOREVER when you are pregnant!) and the newness, little wrinkles and newborn flakiness of a brand new baby only last days. To say I feel blessed to share in these special times would be an understatement – I love my job!

Little Alessandra gave us quite a time trying to get some sleepy shots that day. I personally think that she is already a little princess and was not trying to miss out on her first paparazzi event! Up until the night before our newborn session she was pretty much a constant sleeper. By Sunday morning, Mom knew it would be a different story that day…. BUT – I did not mind it one bit….. I cherish this time catching moments with Mom and Dad trying soothing their little one and getting those awake shots too. Mom and Dad – I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Beautiful Baby Raicheal – Arlington, Virginia Newborn Photographer

This past Saturday morning I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful little one – Raicheal. It seems so long ago that Monique first contacted me about doing a newborn session for her daughter. I was estactic to hear that she had finally had her baby girl and I would be meeting the family that I had been corresponding with for months. Newborn sessions can sometimes take a while waiting on the little one to go down for some sleepy shots and I do not mind at all because this is time spent talking with Mom and Dad and learning about their family. I felt so privileged to share in this time with them and to be able to document their daughters fleeting newborn stage (babies change sooo quickly!). AND, can I tell you that big brother was absolutely adorable – I can’t wait to go back and do his 2 year old session in a couple of weeks! Hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

She reminds me of a baby on a moon in this one!

I love that Mom and Dad wanted some lifestyle type images too!And last but not least…this was a quick snap from the first couple of minutes before big brother went to Grandmas house – Adorable!!!
