I look forward to keeping everyone (clients, family and friends) updated as to what is going on with Sugar Rush Photography. This is such an exciting and busy time for me. It truely is like a Sugar Rush!!! And anyone who knows me well, knows how much I love sweets - so I am happy as can be.

Could Not Wait! - Maryland Newborn Photographer

Remember this recent maternity session? Just 5 short days later, little Cameron made his appearance into the world (a whole 6 weeks early). I am thinking that he could not wait to meet his gorgeous mama. He is a little trooper and made it home from the hospital much sooner then anticipated. What a blessing! Angie, thanks for allowing me to capture these special times for you and congratulations!!

I was so happy mom was feeling great and wanted to venture out to “our” field. OHHHH imagine pulling up to a freshly mowed field - eeekk!!  Thank goodness Angie had been eyeing other fields around her house - it all worked out!  :o)

I just had to add this one - I call it “THE THINKER” lol - tooo cute!

Love this mama-son moment!

Her Big Day - Northern Virginia Childrens Photographer

Just wanted to pop in onto the blog - I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today was my oldest daughter’s big dance recital and the culmination of every Monday evening spent at dance class since September. She danced with about 20 other 8 year olds to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”.  Do you remember that Cyndi Lauper song - lol. She did so well and I am so proud of her. After the show, I convinced (bribed) her to take just a few quick snaps!

This is definitely my favorite - so her..

And a quick one of baby sis. She sure was worn out after all of the “terrorizing” she did during the recital. Awwwhhh life with a 2 year old…. She did last a good hour at the recital before the terror ensued, so I am proud of her too :o)

Ball of Energy - Northern Virginia Child Photographer

I had so much fun with this little Ball-O-Energy yesterday out and about Old Town Alexandria. Seriously, little J had expressions for days and had me laughing with all of her crazy faces she likes to make (silly, serious, goofy, model and the list could go on). Thank you to her older brother who was a huge help :o) I am short on words tonight but wanted to get this sneak peek up for Mom - enjoy!

And here is her handsome brother

I love this one of Mom and J - wheeeeeee!!!

Glowing - Maryland Newborn Photographer

You know it is a fun session when you drive by an abandoned tv on the side of the road and say outloud “we have to pull over and take pictures of you by the tv” and mom-to-be doesn’t even blink an eye. :o)  So yep it is rather random, but the crazy photographer in me absolutely could not pass that moment up!  I had so much fun with this gorgeous mama yesterday.  I have so many favorites - these are only a couple! I know you have been patiently waiting Angie so here they are… enjoy!

A couple from her house

And the rather random tv picture - but isnt she a super model!

And from the field I want to marry :o) And yes, I know, I can not marry a field. But if I could, it would be this one :o)

And this one is so much fun - I love it. I previously have shot a family using the chalk writing on the asphalt, but was inspired recently by an amazing photographer to do the same for the maternity session.

Double the fun - Maryland Newborn Photographer

On Sunday I had the pleasure of the spending the afternoon with this beautiful family and their new bundles of joy!

It was a nice relaxing drive out to their house in Maryland and when I walked into their home, my heart breathed a happy sigh. Their home was the perfect example of decorating your house with your family memories as Art. Beautiful canvases and gorgeous framed prints of their older son adorned the walls. I should have taken pictures because clients frequently ask for ideas for wall layouts for their prints but then I thought they might ask if I was there to take pictures of their cutie pie twins or their walls - lol!

I had such a great time with the twins - they really were little angels.  Apparently, sister surprised everyone by sleeping almost the entire session.  Brother was a little more curious as to the goings on in the house and tried not to miss out ;o) I even had the opportunity to capture a couple of big brother once he woke up from his nap.  I am super excited about the variety of images we were able to capture. Thanks “H” Family I had a great afternoon-enjoy your sneak peek!

And here is super duper cute big brother :o)

Tammy & Steve - Love Shoot

I had a fabulous time yesterday morning with Tammy, Steve and their dog Patches. They were so much fun and willing to do or try anything. Tammy has a smile that can light up a room (and not to mention a rockin bob that you might see me trying to sport soon!) and Steve is super laid back. Both of those qualities made it a joy to shoot them.

What is a Love Shoot you may ask? A Love Shoot is shot just like an engagement session. This couple happens to already be married! Love Shoots can be done whether your married or not and just because you feel like it :o) We decided to go to a couple of locations that have some significance to them - two places that they frequent on almost a daily basis and we couldnt have chosen a better day. It was gorgeous outside (although it did get a bit warm towards the end!) I had a blast - I hope you enjoy your sneak peek - there are sooo many more great ones in your gallery!

Patches was just tooo cute!

Bad Blogger-Family, Life, Work and Weddings…

Wow - it feels like it has been forever since I have blogged anything. To my blog followers (are there any? lol) I am sorry! I have been super busy for the last couple of weeks though - enjoying time with my family, taking care of long needed chores like cleaning out my garage (so not fabulous!) and catching up on proofing and orders!

One of the best times I had in the past couple of weeks was tagging along with the fabulous Julia MacInnis as she shot Jennifer and Taylor’s wedding. Ingrid Kaslik was her second shooter and well, I was just there to learn and have fun. I just wanted to say thanks to Julia for inviting me along. I mostly tried to absorb all the information they were sharing with me, but I also managed to get a couple of shots in too. Congratulations to Jennifer & Taylor - who are truly gorgeous inside and out!

Gorgeous Senior - Northern Virginia High School Senior Photographer

Meet Deanna -Deanna is turning 18 this month, graduating next month, and we are so excited for her!  She is my children’s older sister - can you see the resemblance! I had so much fun on this shoot trying out some fun locations and your brother and sister were so happy to be able to tag along. Thanks for bearing that terrible heat last Sunday- I hope you enjoy this sneak peek. See you soon and we are so proud of you!

Cute Kids | Northern Virginia Childrens Photographer

Just a quick note to everyone - I have had major computer issues within the past week so I apologize if I am late in responding to any emails - you will hear from me soon :)

I just wanted to put up these two shots for Mom :o) On Saturday, I met back up with Mom and her two kids (from the large family session we had been the week before when it was pouring rain!).  It turned out to be a beautiful day (which totally made up for the lousy weather the week before!) and I had a great time - thanks and I will talk to you soon!

Family Fun! - Northern Virginia Photographer

This past weekend I had the privilege of meeting this WONDERFUL family. We had a fun session planned - Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle would be in town from California (in fact Uncle had landed at 6:30am just in time for our 9am session!) and Sister and her family would be coming from a little distance. We had glorious plans and had checked out beautiful sites in the area. But… anyone in this area knows what last Saturday morning was like….. it was gray, gloomy and pouring rain!!! Our plans were blown, but I still had a wonderful time with everyone.  Seriously one of the SWEETEST families I have met! Grandma and Grandpa were hilarious!!! And the kids were soooo good - especially considering that fact that we were stuck in the house.

The good news… I get to meet back up with the kids this week - when it will be sunny and warm outside and well…  I can’t wait!!!

Check them out - Are they not beautiful?

I believe this is the shot that I meowed at everyone - lol!  Hopefully Grandma will love the family picture!!
